Addressing the increasing tensions within the region of Sudan
Sudan has been experiencing internal tensions largely stemming from conflicts between the military and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The situation worsened in 2023, following a military coup in October 2021 which disrupted the country's transition to civilian rule after the removal of long-time dictator Omar al-Bashir in 2019.
Power struggles, economic challenges, and regional conflicts, such as those in Darfur, have further destabilized the nation. International powers, including the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, have been actively involved due to their strategic interests in Sudan.
These countries have used diplomatic efforts and even military interventions to influence Sudan's internal power dynamics, reflecting a broader geopolitical struggle for influence in the region.
